Welcome / Introduction

Dr Paul Jenkinson is a psychology lecturer (Associate Professor) and researcher at the Institute for Social Neuroscience (Melbourne, Australia), and an honorary Researcher/Associate Professor at University College London (UK). His research explores the interaction between the mind and the body in healthy individuals and people with various clinical conditions (e.g. stroke, eating disorders). This research uses a range of methods including experimental psychology and neuropsychology; multi-sensory illusions; social, cognitive and affective neuroscience; meta-analyses; and computational modelling. The main goal of this work is to identify how the body contributes to the everyday experiences of healthy people, and to translate these insights into new ways of understanding and improving the treatment of people with clinical conditions.
